Children Dentistry

The federal government has introduced a dental benefits program known as Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS), for eligible children to provide basic dental services. Children who are eligible, from 2 to 17 years can seek benefit from this dental benefits program. Under this program, a child may receive $1000 for the general dental treatment during the period of two successive calendar years. As per benefit program, parents may claim for general dental check-up, cleaning, dental fillings and other select treatment.  Please check with our friendly team at Ringwood Dental before commencing treatment.

At Ringwood Dental, care for children oral health and accept CDBS claims. The claim will be bulk-billed and there is no out-of-pocket cost for eligible children and undertaking eligible treatment services. While orthodontics is not covered under CDBS, we will advise of any bite or jaw development issues arise and when treatment may be required. • Your child must be aged between 2–17 years for at least one day that year.
• They receive, or their family, guardian or carer receives, certain government benefits such as Family Tax Benefit Part A for at least part of the calendar year.
• Have a valid Medicare card.
• You may confirm your child’s eligibility and balance amount by accessing your Medicare online account at myGov or calling the Medicare general enquiries line on 132 011.
• Note that eligibility may change from time to time as your status with the above may vary.

• Check-ups, x-rays, cleaning, fluoride application, fissure sealing, fillings, root canal and extractions.
• Benefits are not available for orthodontics, mouthguards or cosmetic dental work.
• We will inform you in advance if any of the treatments are not covered.

•  Simply book an appointment with us and let us know you are eligible for the Child Dental Benefit Schedule.
• Bring your current Medicare card to the appointment.
• After you appointment we will bulk bill which means there is no out of pocket expense or up-front fees!
